Potential Risks: Ureteral mucosal injury, bleeding, perforation, avulsion, tissue entrapment, lost fragments, impaction, incomplete release, breakage, wire failure, handle disconnection, channel damage, and infection.
Never activate a laser, pneumatic lithotripter or other energy device against the metal forceps.
Cleaning and Reprocessing
Confirm reusability. Promptly pre-clean, prevent drying, release lock, detach insert if instructed, operate mechanism during cleaning, flush internal spaces, wash with enzymatic/neutral detergent, rinse thoroughly, dry completely, inspect, package, and sterilize using validated cycles.
